Sisal flooring demands special treatment as its natural constitution means it doesn’t stretch like normal carpet. This means it needs to be fixed to its underlay using a special adhesive – this is know as dura fitting. In this installation the rubber crumb underlay is fixed first with adhesive then the sisal carpet glued to the top and rolled extensively to ensure a perfectly flat fit and with no air pockets. This is then left for 24 hours to cure and stabilise before being finished and cut over blind gripper rods to create a perfect edge finish.
